How Hookwell works. Plainly.

Everything the hook does, the limits it enforces and what it will never do.

Overview

Hookwell adds an extra Uniswap v4 pool for any ERC-20 token on Robinhood Chain. Existing pools for the token are not touched. Every Hookwell pool uses the same hook contract, and each pool stores its own module settings, chosen once at creation.

Two contracts make up the protocol. HookwellHook holds pool settings and runs the modules during swaps. HookwellRouter creates pools, manages full-range liquidity and executes swaps.

Creating a pool

  1. Paste the token address and pick ETH or USDG as the pair.
  2. Choose the LP fee: 0.05%, 0.3% or 1%.
  3. Switch on the modules you want and set their values.
  4. Enter both deposit amounts. Their ratio sets the starting price.

The router initializes the pool and adds your full-range liquidity in one transaction. Only one Hookwell pool can exist per token, pair and tick spacing. Settings cannot be changed later.

Anti-snipe

For a window after creation (up to 24 hours), every swap pays the launch fee instead of the normal LP fee, and buys can be capped per swap. The launch fee goes to LPs. The window is measured in seconds, not blocks, because block numbers on Robinhood Chain follow Arbitrum semantics.

Window1 second to 24 hours
Launch feeAt least the LP fee, at most 30%
Max buyOptional cap on the quote amount spent in one swap

Auto burn

On every buy, the hook takes a share of the token output and sends it to 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD in the same transaction. Sells are not affected. The cap is 5%. Each burn emits a Burned event and is added to the pool's running total.

LP rewards

On every swap, the hook takes a share of the output and donates it to in-range liquidity through the PoolManager. It accrues to positions like normal fees and is paid out on collect or remove. The cap is 5%. When a pool has no active liquidity, the donation is skipped.

Protocol fee

A protocol fee is taken from each swap's output and sent to the treasury. The launch default is 0.1%. The owner can change it, but the contract caps it at 0.5%. Changes apply to all pools from the next swap and emit ProtocolFeeUpdated.

Order of deductions

The LP fee is charged by the PoolManager on the input side. The hook then takes the protocol fee, the burn (buys only) and the LP reward from the output. The quote you see, and your minimum received, already include all of them.

Liquidity

Positions are full range and keyed to your wallet inside the router. Only you can remove them. Collect pays accrued fees and LP rewards without changing your position.

Limits

  • Swaps are exact input only. Exact output swaps revert.
  • Fee-on-transfer and rebasing tokens are not supported.
  • Pools can only be created through the Hookwell hook, so every pool is guaranteed to carry its settings.
  • The contracts have not been audited yet.
